General Committee elections held May 3rd

On May 3, 2011, the MP Upper Line General Committee held elections for officers for the next term. Elected to positions were:  General Chairman – Al Nowlin (0349),  Associate General Chairman (full time posiiton)  – Terry Dixon (1216),  Associate General Chairman (Enginemen) – John Butler (0533),  Associate General Chairman (Trainmen) – Brian Doogan (0979),  Vice General Chairman – Frank Evans (0656)  and Secretary of the GCA – Jake Moore (1403).

In 1958, the attached letter was submitted to the Secretary of BLF&E Lodge 109 in St. Louis, Missouri. It was from Local Chairman J. E. Pace and requested that the lodge pay him his time lost on his freight turn when he layed off to represent a member in an investigation. The amount of time lost for his turn was $45.00. – – Lost wages to Lodge

The structure of UTU dues is important for members to be familiar with. The attached 2 page document shows the structure and a breakdown of each Department and Committee. This document may be viewed by clicking = Dues and dues structure (2).

We invite a comparison of wages, benefits, protection and working conditions on Railroads that UTU represents workers to any non-union Railroad or Railroad that workers are represented only by another Organization. With such a comparison, anyone would readily see that the dues paid for UTU are well worth the investment.
